4 minute read

We would like to introduce you to Pascal Scheepers, Senior Developer at Tilaa. Pascal is with his 25 years the Benjamin of the group. Pascal started working for our development team in January of this year and he is responsible for the development and implementation of new products. He also continuously optimizes our websites and updates the technology behind it all.

PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, SQL AngularJS, Bootstrap, Symfony, CakePHP and ES6 are just a small selection of the many languages and techniques he manages. Other than that, he is also fluent in English and Dutch and is very skilled in sarcasm.

Why did you choose Tilaa?
Pascal: “I was working in London as a developer for over three years, but when Brexit was announced I decided to return to the Netherlands. I fell for the charms of Tilaa almost immediately during the job interview. The development team at Tilaa is very close and they all are very sociable guys. We go out for drinks on a regular basis to celebrate the start of the weekend. We are a small but multicultural team. As a result, conversations go way beyond the latest trends in games, gadgets and IT development. No day or conversation is the same, making it a pleasure to start the day.”

What do you like to do in your spare time?
“Just like during work, I like to keep up with the latest trends in the world. I really enjoy studying science like astronomy and physics. And on occasion I love to escape reality by reading science fiction and fantasy books. Another hobby of mine is cooking, I’m a huge fan of the traditional Italian cuisine and I enjoy experimenting with the Dutch kitchen.”

What are you working on right now?
“Over the last couple of months I’ve been working on developing, implementing and optimizing Big Disk together with the other developers. Especially in the last few weeks we have been testing and fine-tuning a lot to make Big Disk easy to use and I’m very proud of the results. Our goal was to make the product as simple as possible so everyone can use it. I think we truly have succeeded on that matter, but of course I will be refining Big Disk on a continuous basis.”
